(More customer reviews)I'd been feeding my boxer mix Lamaderm from Walmart for nearly a year, and thought he might have been having an allergic reaction to something in it... always rubbing his face and ears on the floor and couch, etc.... So I switched to this food. After two bags, (about 4-5 weeks) I switched back. His poop was really soft, he was losing energy, and within a few weeks, he'd started to lose weight. He'd lost nearly 6 pounds before we found out that he had an overgrowth of bacterial flora in his gut. (over $300 worth of blood tests) stating that he needed to be on a higher quality diet, and run a course of antibiotics to fight the bacteria. So, $60 a bag for food, another $60 worth of medicines and probiotics, and hopefully he'll get back on track. His poop already started to be better, even before the medicines, and the blood tests, once we started with the Royal Canin Venison and Potato...
Do I recommend Science Diet Nature's Best? Absolutely not. Could it maybe have been something else that caused his problem? Could it have been an isolated incident that this food caused a problem? Sure, maybe... but I'm guessing that it was the food, and I will never feed him anything but the venison and potato by Royal Canin again.
