We have two out of four dogs who don't like this food as much as other Blue food but it's well liked but the other two! It smells a bit fishy but I think that's actually a good thing because this food has been very impressive with our dogs overall! They do eat this in addition to a raw diet and digests very well for us!

Bayer K9 Advantix 55 (21-55-lbs) Review

Bayer K9 Advantix 55 (21-55-lbs)
Average Reviews:

Our dogs spend a lot of time outdoors going on walks in the woods, in grassy fields, etc and we had tried collars, dips, other topical ointments and always ended up with ticks. Tried the Advantix based on our vet's recommendation, and have been extremely satisfied since. One of our dogs did have an allergic reaction the first time we used it on him, but we called the Vet and they told us just to give the dog some children's Benedryl. She was fine upon subsequent applications. As far as the poor customer service the other person wrote about in their review- I'm sorry they had a bad experience with the rep they spoke to, but why in the world would you call the manufacturer instead of your vet? Would you call the drug manufacturer if your child had an adverse reaction to a new prescription, or would you call your doctor? Only complaint is it is rather costly compared to other products.

Merrick Wilderness Blend Dog Food 15lb Bag Review

Merrick Wilderness Blend Dog Food 15lb Bag
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We are a family of pet food snobs. Only the best will do for our pooches, and Merrick Wilderness Blend certainly qualifies as a premium food worth of Gabby and Piper. My daughther, the PETCO Employee, brought over a bag of this food for our girls to sample. It was love at first bite. Our two girls and their Australian cattle dog cousin gobbled up bits of Merrick like pieces of candy. Even picky shih tzu Piper eats this food readily though she refuses to eat the yellow vision elements. Changing over to a new food is a gradual process, so we began by mixing in the new food with their regular food. With the Merrick food added, both Gabby and Piper eat their meals with added gusto.
Why would you want to give this food to your dogs?
It contains no wheat, corn, or soy.
The first ingredients are buffalo, salmon meal, lamb meal, ground rice, oatmeal, and venison.( I wondered about the quality of lamb MEAL, and after doing some research learned that meal is just as nutritious as plain lamb. It just includes some skin and perhaps bone.)
Apparently the food is palatable and tasty to dogs.
It's made in the USA
The maker guarantees your satisfaction.
Wilderness Blend food contains dried POTATOES!
Because the food is so nutritionally dense, you can feed your dog a little less than a lesser food. My daughter says it may make your dog an "ultimate pooper." Meaning fewer bowel movements.
The formula is for dogs of all ages. Just adjust the amount fed.The only negative I see might be the cost. Those like us who dote on their dogs may not care.

Evanger's Super Premium 100% Venison for Dogs Review

Evanger's Super Premium 100% Venison for Dogs
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My 15 year old dog stopped eating. She lost 10 pounds in 2 weeks, and just had no interest in eating anything, canned or dried. I tried several varieties, canned and dried, and in those 14 days, she ate maybe 1/2 can of food.
I went to my local pet store and bought several different varieties of dog food, worked out the ones that she would eat, but even then, she was down to maybe 1/2 can a day. Being a wolf hybrid, and only weighing 40 pounds, I was afraid she was on her last legs, so I went online and ordered several cans of different brands and flavors of dog food to see if I could get her to eat.
Of those kinds of dog food, only Evanger's consistently works. True, I still can't feed her the same flavor twice in a row, cause she won't eat it the second time around, but when I mix the grain free food with her dry dog food, she WILL eat the whole thing (1 full can of Evanger's + her normal serving of dry). It takes her all day, but she DOES eat it. At first, she 'snarfed' it, so I was feeding her two cans a day, but then she sorta lost interest again after gaining all her weight back. That's when I hit on the new 'I refuse to eat the same flavor two days in a row' issue, but at 15, I figure I can live with it.
So, really, don't care HOW they do it. I just know that all the other brands I have tried, this is the only one that is cost-usable-on-a-monthly-basis, and my dog will eat, so I will keep buying it as long as I can, and as long as my dog is still alive.

Iams FP Skin and Coat Dog Food 30 lb Review

Iams recalled its FP formula dry dog food on 7/30/10. However, Amazon was still selling this product as late as 8/3/10. But that's not even the worst part. After the recall, Amazon's merchants were advertising this product as being on sale for 70% off. Unbelievable!

ALPO Chop House in Gravy Rotisserie Chicken, 22 Ounce Tins (Pack of 12) Review

ALPO Chop House in Gravy Rotisserie Chicken, 22 Ounce Tins (Pack of 12)
Average Reviews:

Initially ordered this at slightly over a dollar per can. These are big cans (22 oz) instead of the smaller ones, so that was a good deal. The dogs loved this (Chicken flavor) and the T-bone Steak flavor as well, so if they're happy and jumping around to gobble it down, that's good enough for me. I mix it in with dry crunchy food and they lick their bowls clean. I haven't tried it myself (just can't get hungry enough to eat dog food...) but it smells good. I see the price has roughly doubled since the first order however, so I'm going to have to look elsewhere for a better price or find something else. No problem with the item itself, just the price, and even then, only because it was a good deal before.
